The pattern for the body tries to make a chubby belly, but it looks a little strange. I would probably change round 10 to (2 sc, dec)*6 next time.

Backpack Straps: you'll have make and position the straps in whatever way makes the backpack stay on the bear's back. For me, this is what worked:
Attach blue thread near the bottom left corner (probably in st 10 of round 2), ch 8, attach to round 7 (probably st 8) with a sl st and finish off. Repeat for right side
Tips:
- The backpack stays on better if the straps are attached closer to the center at the top.
- The straps will stretch, so it's ok for them to be a little tight.

Assembly:
When I sewed my bear together, I slid the hood onto the bear's head, made sure I liked the fit and position, then attached the hood to the body with a couple stitches. Then I attached the head to the body, sewing through the bottom of the hood. This made it so the hood could slide on and off the bear's head, but was firmly attached to the body.
Then I added the ears. I had to sew the ears on a little farther forward than I normally would so that the hood would fit properly.
Then I added the legs and arms.
