Crochet Ruffle Pot Holder Pattern



Materials:
Size 10 white crochet thread
Size 10 red crochet thread
Size 10 blue crochet thread
Size 10 crochet hook


Cutting on the outside of the lines, cut a mat of 30 lines (29 squares) x 30 lines (29 squares).
Fold 2 squares over and sew around the sides

Base: In White
Chain 44
Row 1: Dc in 8th st from hook, *ch 2, skip the next 2 st, dc in 3rd st. Repeat from * across. (There should be 13 squares.) Ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Ch 5, turn, *dc in the top of the dc, ch 2. Repeat from * across.
Row 3-13: Repeat row 2
Finish off

This is the pattern for the ruffle top.

Top: I used red, white, and blue for the top.
Start at the center of the grid you made.
Round 1: In red, start at the blue dot and follow the red arrows and crochet 3 dc in each line. Finish off when you get back to the beginning.
Round 2: In white, start at the next blue dot and follow the green arrows, crocheting 3 dc in each line. Finish off when you get back to the beginning.
Round 3: In blue, continue the patten of "up, over, down, over" around.
Continue the pattern and alternating colors each round until you get to the edge of the grid you made. 
Edging: (sl st, 6 dc, sl st) in each empty space all the way around.
